I'm someone who truly appreciates elegant design. Designing a product that properly balances technical functionality with aesthetics is not a trivial task and I think it deserves greater appreciation than it usually gets. Some of the things we use most often throughout the day fit into this category - our cell phones, our household products and our cars not only achieve specific functions reliably, but need to be enjoyable to use as well.
That is why as a student I decided to pursue the technical engineering side (in school and with internships) without putting my creative side to rest (by taking on contract video, photo and web design projects); getting the best of both. It kept my school days interesting, dynamic and busy!

Who is Danny McInnis?Danny graduated in April 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He studied on a Schulich Leaders Scholarship which he received in recognition for his many STEM-related pursuits.
At school, he was an active member of the engineering community, most notably in his roles with MechEngage and his school's Hyperloop team. With MechEngage, he taught basic & advanced Solidworks workshops to 100s of students over the 4 years he was with the club - sharing his passions about product design with others. In April 2020, he received his Certified Solidworks Expert (CSWE) certification - the highest level that Solidworks gives out to their users (only about 4500 CSWEs globally). With the University of Toronto's Hyperloop Team, he served as Chief Mechanical Engineer, overseeing all mechanical sub-teams for the 200 person team. He worked 2 years worth of internships in the robotics, aerospace and product development industries. In Sept 2020, he will be joining Logitech's team in Ireland. |
Danny also loves staying active - doing kickboxing, squash, hockey, running and working out in his free time.
